Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Preventionprovides information on juvenile justice programming, research, publications and funding opportunities as well as Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act state contacts.

Annie E. Casey Foundation – provides information on the Juvenile Detention Alternatives Initiative (JDAI), including research, model site data, and state contacts.

Bureau of Justice Assistance – offers training and technical assistance opportunities, justice programming, publications, and funding opportunities.  Check out their law enforcement training database to search for trainings by topic and their law enforcement justice issues section for juvenile justice topic-specific information.  

Center for Juvenile Justice Reform provides a resource area for juvenile justice research and publications. 

Center on Wrongful Convictions of Youth – provides information on false confessions and exonerated youth and offers legal resources such as model juvenile legislation and case law. 

Coalition for Juvenile Justice provides archived juvenile justice training, fact sheets, and state Juvenile Detention Alternatives Initiative (JDAI) and Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Act statistics and contacts. 

Community Oriented Policing Services – provides information on law enforcement agency funding opportunities, training and technical assistance, and justice resources.  Check out ‘The Beat’ podcasts under News and Events and their resources section, which includes a library you can search by topic. 

The Council of State Governments Justice Center – provides archived webinars and podcasts on juvenile justice topics, as well as publications and technical assistance to the criminal justice field.  

CrimeSolutions.govprovides information on what works in juvenile justice programming. 

DelinquencyPrevention.orgprovides a library of delinquency prevention resources, including information on model programming, state juvenile justice profiles and resources, and prevention news, and events.

Find Youth Info – provides a searchable, evidence based youth programs directory, information on funding opportunities, data and research on youth-related topics.  Check out their Youth Topics area for topic-specific resources and programming information. 

Juvenile Justice Information Exchange – a publication covering juvenile justice and related issues in the Southeast and around the nation on a consistent, daily basis.

National Alliance on Mental Illness – created the Child & Adolescent Action Center to focus attention on youth diagnosed with a mental health illness.

National Center for Juvenile Justice provides technical assistance, research, and information on juvenile justice topics, including state juvenile justice profiles, and national and state programming. 

National Center for Mental Health and Juvenile Justice – provides information on the Models for Change juvenile justice reform program and publications on working with youth with mental health needs in the juvenile justice system.  Check out their training area for an electronic resource kit on mental health and juvenile justice.    

National Center for Missing and Exploited Childrenprovides information, resources, and free and/or low cost training and technical assistance on amber alert, child exploitation, and child safety.  This site includes a link to report child pornography or suspected child sexual exploitation to the CyberTipline.    

National Crime Prevention Council – provides free or low-cost crime prevention training, programming, and resources. 

National Criminal Justice Reference Service – offers a searchable website with a justice training event calendar, resource library and grant and funding information.   

National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges  offers information on juvenile justice publications, news, and events. 

National Girls Institute – is a research-based training and resource clearinghouse designed to advance understanding of girls’ issues and improve program and system responses to girls in the juvenile justice system.

National Juvenile Justice Network – supports and enhances the capacity of juvenile justice coalitions and organizations to protmote the reform of state and federal laws, policies, and practices for all children, youth, and families involved in or at risk of becoming involved in the juvenile justice system.

National League of Cities Institute of Youth, Education and Families – has become a primary source of information and expertise on municipal strategies to promote child and family well-being.

Project Safe Neighborhoods provides free or low-cost training and technical assistance, news, and publications on topics including gangs, gun safety, and crime prevention.  

University of New Hampshire’s Crimes Against Children Research Center provides publications and a news archive on topics related to crimes against children.

Bureau of Justice Assistanceprovides free training and technical assistance to courts, corrections, substance abuse and mental health service providers, justice information sharing professionals, crime prevention specialists, and tribal communities.

Coalition for Juvenile Justice – provides archived juvenile justice training, fact sheets, and state juvenile justice, Juvenile Detention Alternatives Initiative (JDAI), and Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Act information.

Fox Valley Technical College – offers free and/or low-cost training and technical assistance for law enforcement in various areas including: internet crimes against children, child protection, and amber alert. 

Juvenile Law Center offers fact sheets and research publications about juvenile justice and child welfare issues and practices.

National Center for Mental Health and Juvenile Justice provides training curricula and online training on youth and the juvenile justice system. 

National Center for Prosecution of Child Abuse provides free and/or low-cost training and technical assistance on investigating and prosecuting child abuse cases.   

National Criminal Justice Reference Service offers a searchable website with a justice training event calendar, resource library and grant and funding information.   

National Association of School Resource Officersprovides low-cost training for school resource officers.  

National Association of School Safety and Law Enforcement Officershosts an annual, low-cost, school safety conference. Check out their news area for training events and funding announcements.  

National Training and Technical Assistance Center Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention resource for free or low-cost training and technical assistance for law enforcement and juvenile justice professionals.   

NetSmartz Workshop – provides free videos, presentations, and resource materials for law enforcement to use in their communities when teaching children how to be safer on- and offline.

Readiness and Emergency Management for Schools’ Technical Assistance Center  supports schools, school districts, and institutions of higher education in emergency management, by providing technical assistance on school safety, including the development and implementation of comprehensive emergency and crisis response plans.  

Safe and Supportive Schools  provides training, technical assistance, and publications for schools on school climate and safety.

Girl’s Study Group  provides research and tools on girls and delinquency, including a searchable databases of resources and assessment instruments and downloadable presentations. 

National Center for Mental Health and Juvenile Justice – provides a downloadable training curriculum on managing justice-involved girls.

National Council on Crime and Delinquency Center for Girls and Young Women – provides gender-specific research and publications on girls and the juvenile justice system as well as gender-specific response and assessment training and technical assistance for juvenile courts and other agencies within the juvenile justice continuum.  

National Juvenile Defender Center Girls’ Justice Initiative – provides links to research and fact sheets on girls and the juvenile justice system. 

 

School Safety Resources

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Division of Adolescent and School Health – provides information on youth health and school safety. Check out their publications area for resources on adolescent health, injury and violence, and the youth risk behavior surveillance system. 

Cyberbullying Research Center – provides research and publications on cyberbullying, sexting, social networking, and other issues regarding youth and technology. 

Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network  provides school climate and bullying research and tools.   Schools can check out the resources section for lesson plans on bullying and school safety.

National School Safety Center  provides training and technical assistance, as well as, free downloadable resources on school safety, prevention and preparedness. 

National Threat Assessment Center provides information and publications on threat assessment and school safety.

Office of Safe and Drug Free Schoolsprovides fact sheets, publications, and information on school safety programming and grant funding opportunities.  

Safe Havens International  offers free resources such as video clips and podcasts, articles, assessment tools, and publications on school safety, grant-writing, and bullying. They also provide low-cost training on school safety.

Safe and Supportive Schools – provides training, technical assistance, and publications for schools on school climate and safety. 

StopBullying.gov – provides information on bullying prevention and education, including assessment tools, video clips (webisodes), publications, and an online resources area. 

Weapons and Systems Technologies Centeroffers a school safety video and publication and links to online school safety resources.  

 

Tribal Youth Justice Resources

Bureau of Justice Assistance – provides free justice training and technical assistance to courts, corrections, substance abuse and mental health service providers, justice information sharing professionals, crime prevention specialists, and tribal communities.

Upper Midwest Community Policing Institute – provides free or low-cost training for native schools and law enforcement on school safety issues using specific intervention, prevention and response methodologies.  

Western Community Policing Institutethe National Tribal Training Institute provides free or low cost law enforcement training on the topic of tribal youth.
