Request Technical Assistance

The IACP provides no-cost technical assistance (TA) to local, state, federal and international law enforcement and criminal justice agencies on juvenile justice and child protection topics such as:

  • Law Enforcement Responses to Adolescent Girls
  • Interview and Interrogation of Juveniles
  • School Safety
  • Juvenile Repeat Offenders
  • Youth Focused Policing
  • Children Exposed to Violence
  • Child Sex Trafficking

TA can be provided via telephone, electronically, or through on-site delivery. The IACP provides TA to law enforcement and criminal justice agencies seeking to:

  • Improve or develop operations, policies, and/or programs related to youth crime, delinquency, and/or victimization;
  • Facilitate the implementation of enhanced or new programs;
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of initiatives aimed to reduce youth crime, delinquency, and victimization.

IACP can provide TA services such as:

  • Specialized training to meet the needs of a jurisdiction
  • Policy review and guidance
  • Curricula review and guidance
  • Conference or event workshop presentations
  • Referral to topic-specific IACP or external resources

Requesting Juvenile Justice Technical Assistance

Some TA requests may require an in-depth assessment and delivery on-site, including requests for training workshops. Applying for on-site TA is a competitive process, and departments need to obtain authorization from their Chief or Chief Representative prior to submitting an application.
